FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most from clients, families, friends, and donors.
Are you physical therapists?
No. We are kinesiologists, exercise specialists, and certified trainers, not physical or occupational therapists. STRIDE SCI is an adaptive personal training facility. Our training complements the care you receive from your medical team and picks up where insurance-covered therapy leaves off.
Who is STRIDE for?
Individuals living with paralysis from spinal cord injury and other neurological conditions who want to keep making progress beyond traditional therapy, at any stage of recovery.
How do I get started?
Fill out our application and our team will reach out to discuss your goals, understand your individual needs, and set up your first visit. You can also contact us directly with any questions via email: info@stridesci.org
Do you take insurance?
Sessions are self-pay at an hourly rate. We understand that there can be limitations with affording resources towards your recovery. Several SCI foundations offer grants that can help cover the cost of activity-based training. Check out our Community Resources page for more information!
What equipment do you have?
Our gym features the Rise&Walk® robotic gait trainer by Healing Innovations and ARC-EX® spinal cord stimulation by ONWARD Medical, alongside adaptive strength and conditioning equipment. See our equipment.
Where are you located?
111 Hopkins Hill Rd, Ste 2A, Unit 2, West Greenwich, Rhode Island 02817. Find directions and a map on our contact page.
How can I support STRIDE?
Donate, spread the word, or join us at a community event. Every bit of support helps expand access to activity-based training in Rhode Island. Don't hesitate to reach out to us directly about volunteer opportunities!
